SYNOPSIS

Randi Halvorsen - a young female archeologist, finally gets her big break when she is asked to head up an archeological dig to look for the grave of a powerful Viking woman who has been her fascination for years. Since childhood she has been obsessed by the mysteries of this figure of old Norse history, and her tenacity finally gets her the chance she has been waiting for.

In her excitement she speeds ahead of her assistants to the digsite – an old Viking burial ground – and her eagerness is rewarded when she finds a mysterious stone tablet inscribed with strange and unfamiliar symbols that she is unable to translate. When her assistants arrive together with a team from the local TV station, a chain of frightening events begins to occur.

It is not long before everyone realizes that they are all in deep shit – bloodcurdling sounds are heard at night and they see a strange woman leaving livestock dismembered at a nearby farm. Then the digsite is visited by a man calling himself Ignasarus who talks like he has been around for a thousand years.

The mysterious Ignasarus explains what is happening. They are up against a creature he calls Valkyrie, but this is no ordinary Valkyrie, she is a vampire and the oldest and strongest of them all. By removing the tablet – a seal on her grave – they have released her into this world.

So – how does one kill a vampire that has slept and gathered power for more then a millenium…?

Ignasarus believes he has the solution in the form of a riddle in a very old book. Perhaps if they can solve the riddle, they can find a way to kill the Valkyrie forever. What remains to be seen is whether they can solve the riddle before the Valkyrie reaches full strength and comes to kill them all.

There is now a race against time for the scientists as they apply their intelligence and modern technology in the search for a way to rid the world of the bloodthirst of the viking vampirewoman – The Valkyrie…

VALKYRIE VAMPYRIS - LIFETIME DIARY OF THE VALKYRIES

VALKYRIE VAMPYRIS: (more than 1000 years old)
In this diary ancient munks and the like, have been writing and drawing the history of the Valkyries. This book have specific tales and inscriptions about a strong and evil Valkyrie named YLVA. Our hero Ignasarus (our Van Helsing from ancient times) does have the solution at hand....in form of a mysterious riddle from ancient times.

The total amount of Valkyries (as told in the norse history) is about 12 or 13. Ignasarus have slained them all, and buried them on various locations in Scandinavia during the Viking era.
The book is filled with illustrations, runic inscriptions, storys, explorations and riddles that ancient munks and Ignasarus have been collecting during encounters with the Valkyries. A specific riddle tells mankind on how to kill a Valkyrie, but we have just been able to translate about 75% of it. The rest of the riddle is not known...

In our understanding the rest of the riddle contains a horrible truth that the ancient munks will not let mankind know of. What is this secret? What is so gruesome about the REAL truth?

Why is the remaining truth written in a extinct language? Are mankind doomed? Will Valkyries rule the world? And why does the book tell us that Ignasarus have killed all 13 valkyries, but also on how mankind can kill one? There exists 14th Valkyrie sleeping beneath the ground - right now!

Deler av gåten: I Den Evige Hall Av Lys, Skal Hennes Død Komme Som Mange Av Den Ene.
Part Of The Riddle: In The Eternal Hall Of Light, Her Death Shall Come As Many Of The One. (English translation)

TEAM AND TECHNICAL FOR VALKYRIE (Prewiz Trailer 2003)

The team behind VALKYRIE (Prewiz trailer 2003) was producer Tom B. Jenssen, and director Stein Eikesdal. Old and new experience in a balanced mix. Jenssen has more than 20 years of experience in film and television, in production as well as distribution. He has made six American pictures as Executive Producer, Producer, Writer and 2nd Unit Director.
Sadly in March 2006 Tom B. Jenssen left us all and wandered off to where only the spirits belong. Rest in peace, Tom. We will continue and dedicate this movie to his memory. A great and innovative script writer is gone.

This is the first feature film of director Stein Eikesdal, who in addition to directing is also the editor/CGI/effects and sound/musicmixer on VALKYRIE. Eikesdal is a young veteran of short films and music videos and is considered a bright new talent in the Norwegian film landscape. VALKYRIE is an amazingly innovative project; indeed it is believed to be the first vampire movie ever made in Scandinavia. But this time it is not a cape-clad Count from Transylvania who is the threat, but our very own Norse Valkyrie – a vampire woman from the saga of the Vikings.

The team behind VALKYRIE has adhered faithfully to the well-loved elements of the horror genre. The story, will be moving some classical cliché elements for these type of films and to bring the audience the most thrilling and different storyline not seen for quite a while. It will shock your heart, but that is life!

Final movie is planned being shot in HD Definition 1080p and tranferred to 35mm for worldwide presentation.

Effects and action will be similar to The Matrix, Blade, The One, Azumi, Shogun Assasin, Lords Of The Rings, Crouching Tiger - Hidden Dragon, Hero (Jet Li), Kung-Fu Movies and Vampire movies and horror movies in general. Visual Effects are tools to enhance the experience and is not the key factor for this movie. This is not a Hollywood blockbuster.

These are at least some of the key goals of this production, and as always are subject of beeing changed.
