My collection of Commodore 64, 128, Plus/4 computers

Thought I would just for my own personal reference write down in history the current Commodore models I own, which are quite a number these days :-)

The collection thus far includes my very own first old breadbin Commodore 64 from 1988, followed by my own Commodore 64 (newer type) from 1991. Further items in the collection are a mix of auction, ebay, gifts or even thrift shop items gathered from 2006 up to recent days.

I did not pay alot for any of these 2006+ items, sometimes just over 1 dollar. This was long before the retro-wave struck worldwide, and most of the machines I gathered had to be repaired which I managed to do with most of them. I do have 3 non-working C64 for parts or maybe someday one of them could be fully restored with parts from the two others.

You may wonder why I have that many Commodore 64's? Well, since this was in 2006, I started early to plan several SID chips for recording in my SOASC= project and thus it led to just having to randomly buy machines dirt cheap in order to find the SID revisions I wanted. Eventually, I did manage to reach that goal too, as 3 pcs of 6581 where used in the recordngs (R2,R3,R4) quite early into the project.

Since it was a good habit to save them Commodore 64, I continued to collect them whenever found dirt cheap or given to me for free, which I still will intend to do in future.

Somewhere during 2013-2017 I purchased also a Plus/4 dirt cheap in Norway, sadly it did not work, along with some broken keys and plastic. Years later, like 2021 I managed to repair it and I was super happy to see that machine for the first time live in my life.

Update 11 Apr 2024:
