A deep dive into the official Amiga 500 promo video from 1987, known internationally as "Amiga - The Movie" and in Norway as "Computer Video'n Amiga 500" by Commodore. Since 2020, I've been researching and analyzing this mini-feature, which had a huge impact on my interest in computer graphics, programming, and music-an interest that started in 1989 and has lasted for decades. I love this film!
In this video, I discuss my study of all the artwork, software packages, tutorial files, and imagery used throughout the film, along with its animations and other visual elements. I have also documented the full source references for the material featured in the video on my website.
The promo video was divided into five major sections-business, multimedia, music, education, and games-perfectly showcasing what the Amiga 500 was capable of in the mid-to-late '80s.
I also share some personal history with this video, which I first watched in 1989 on VHS, pausing frequently to take in every detail. While I've identified about 95% of the content, I'm now reaching out to the community to help uncover the remaining pieces-some of which I highlight in this video.
Hope you find it interesting-and maybe you can help!?
