In 2009 I started a very slow project of aquiring all of the cd's in an attempt to create the ultimate search engine for these cd's. The Aminet Set CD's already came with a complete filelist and browser program, but it was not very deep.

In my project I created a lot of own scanning and extraction routines to get all the possible text found on the cd's, including the contents of LHA files, DMS and so fourth. The resulting datafile ended in 2.5GB of real human readable and searchable text. Even archives inside archives were unpacked and RawText scanned.

The RawText scanning procedure is something I "invented" during my incredible music recording projects for the Commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga known as SOASC= and SOAMC=. It uses a combination of already free extracting software and wordlists along with my own cleanup code to produce only ASCII more or less human understandable and readable plain text available for search use in our own databases systems online.

I have created a very nice working offline search tool to know the wherabouts of files on the CD's called "SOTDS Suite", check that out on the link at the bottom of this page.

Aminet Set #1 to #12 contains 4 cd in every cd-cover, but from #48 they came out as single cd's upto #52 from which Internet took over the archiving and no more cd's were produced or sold in this style.

I though there were no good high-res scans of the CD's, so those can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

It should be noted that as per. 2015, I'm still missing Aminet Set 12 which contains Aminet CD45, 46, 47, 48 and the single last CD's ever: 49, 50, 51 and 52.
